A modern Lapland village

Things to do in Levi
Easy accessibility

Year-round adventure destination
One of the largest ski resorts in Finland

Levi, in the municipality of Kittilä, is a welcoming resort renowned for its diverse facilities, international atmosphere, and genuine Lappish hospitality just 15 minutes from the Kittilä airport.

Levi is, for good reason, the destination for active travellers: the resort’s offerings are constantly updated and harmoniously blend in with the surrounding natural environment. Levi is like a small city and provides a wide choice of activities, events and cultural experiences – in both summer and winter time. You need to go no further than the fell village for services and shopping enthusiasts are guaranteed many pleasurable moments within a short walking distance.

Highlighted activities in Levi

Outdoor adventures and vibrant après-ski scene

Levi’s variety of services including bars, restaurants, shops, a spa and child friendly activities are conveniently situated in the compact heart of the centre, all within a walking distance from most of the hotels.

The surrounding wilderness boasts unspoilt scenery, and is a haven for truly exotic Lappish adventures in snow sure conditions. Snowmobile safaris, snowshoe and cross country skiing trips in the beautiful fell scenery are some of the highlights of the area. In the summer time the village offers various outdoor activities.

Levi is also famous for its youthful nightlife and relaxed atmosphere. In season, the music is uninterrupted, and well-known singers take the stage every night.

Versatile winter and summer destination

The Levi fell is 531 meters high and is the largest ski resort in Lapland with 43 slopes. Levi has been voted as the best Finnish ski resort of the year numerous times and has hosted the first Alpine Ski World Cup Slalom race of the season since 2004.

Reindeer safaris in age old landscapes and dog sled safaris with you in charge of your own team of dogs are a perfect way to experience pure nature. The traditional Lappish culture can also be conveniently found at the Samiland exhibition on the Levi fell, and the spectacular SnowVillage – the largest snow structure of its kind in Europe is only a short 40 minute transfer away. Special things in Levi are also midnight sun golfing and World Cup alpine skiing.

As a (cold) curiosity, the town of Pokka, about 60 km from Levi, registered the coldest temperature of Finland in 1999: -51,5 °C.
