This scenic safari takes you by snowmobile to a famous amethyst mine. You are invited inside wooden houses that are covered with snow but always warm inside! Here you will learn about a purple variation of quartz, formed about 2000 million years ago, deep inside the ancient mountain. The guide of the Amethyst mine will lead you through the fascinating world of amethysts. At the mine, you’ll have an opportunity to dig out your very own lucky stone before returning to Luosto by snowmobile.
It’s good to notice that this excursion is a combination of both 4-stroke and electric snowmobiles according to the customers’ purchase decision (Snowmobile Safari to Amethyst Mine / Snowmobile Safari to Amethyst Mine by Electric Snowmobiles).
Guide is always driving a 4-stroke snowmobile and pulling the sled for children.

Children under 2 years are not recommended to take part on snowmobile safaris. Lapland Safaris Luosto (Snow Games Ltd) reserves the right to deny the participation of small children due to safety reasons (e.g. demanding weather or trail conditions).
Child price entitles children to a seat in a sled pulled by a 4-stroke snowmobile driven by the guide. This is purely for reason that it’s not possible to pull a sled by electric snowmobile. Children over 140 cm in height are allowed to sit on the snowmobile behind an adult, when paying the adult price. Each snowmobile is shared by two guests taking turns in driving.
The driver of the snowmobile has to be at least 18 years of age with a driver’s license valid in Finland. Driving a motorized vehicle under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating drugs is prohibited by the laws of Finland. Take your driving license with you on the snowmobile safari as the police may check the validity of the license during the safari.

Self liability can be reduced to €150 by paying waiver supplement €20 per safari driver

Cancellation policy
- 8 days or more before the excursion departure: cancellation fee 25,00 eur
- 7 days or less before the excursion departure or no show: 100% of the value of the Order Confirmation
